  • Where is the KARMA™ brand located?

All KARMA™ products are produced in Victorville, California.

  • How do I read the “Best By” date on the package?

You will find the Best By (BB) date on our packaging. Following the letters BB, there's a two-digit month, day and year expiration date. Example: If you see BB 02 21 19, the food should be fed by February 21, 2019.

  • Are the KARMA™ products at major retailers the same quality as what's available at pet specialty stores?

Of course! The same KARMA™ products that are sold in pet specialty stores will be available in major retailers and each product will meet our high-quality standards, regardless of whether they are purchased at a pet specialty store or another major retailer.

  • What do you mean by “the world’s finest ingredients”?

Each ingredient serves a specific purpose in each recipe. We exclusively source non-GMO ingredients(t) as close to their native form as possible from trusted farmers and suppliers.†We will not use ingredients like wheat, soy protein ingredients, chicken by-product meal or corn, and each KARMA™ recipe is made without artificial preservatives, flavors or colors.

†Trace amounts of genetically modified ingredients may be present due to potential cross contact during manufacturing.

  • What is the process for testing your ingredients for GMOs?

We test our ingredients using a third-party testing facility. For testing, we take random samples from our manufacturing sites and send all samples to our third-party laboratory. The lab then tests for GMOs.

  • Are there any safety or quality checks in place for the preparation of KARMA™ dog food?

Yes. We rigorously test to ensure the safest and quality of our pet food. We have quality experts who work onsite to ensure we meet all safety standards and certifications. Additionally, all of our facilities are inspected by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and we adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Hygiene Practices and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points - all regulated by the FDA.

  • How do you ensure that you are sourcing non-GMO ingredients†?

We test every ingredient used in KARMA™ dry dog recipes for GMO variants and cross-contamination.

Trace amounts of genetically modified ingredients may be present due to potential cross contact during manufacturing.

  • Where does the KARMA™ brand source its ingredients from?

We source our ingredients from trusted farmers and suppliers, prepare only in trusted facilities, and rigorously test for quality and safety. We travel the world to locate and source the quality ingredients used in our recipes.

  • What does "natural" mean?

KARMA™ natural dry dog food with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients is formulated without artificial flavors, preservatives or colors. We are committed to purposeful nutrition and quality food safety.

  • What does “plant-first recipe” mean, and how is it different from a vegetarian recipe?

KARMA™ dog food is formulated with ground sorghum, a whole grain, as the first ingredient. This is what we mean by “plant-first recipe.” However, a plant-first recipe doesn’t mean that meat or dairy is excluded from our products. KARMA™ also includes high-quality protein from chicken and white fish. This is different from a vegetarian recipe or diet, which excludes meat entirely.

  • What are plant-based superfoods? Why are they included in KARMA™ dog food?

A plant-based superfood is a food that’s rich in fiber or fatty acids and considered to be beneficial to one’s health. KARMA™ recipes include plant-based superfoods like flaxseed, chickpeas, dried coconut, chia seed, dried pumpkin, kale, blueberry, spinach, apple and carrot to provide your dog with an antioxidant-rich, fiber-full blend that nourishes your dog’s whole body health.

  • Do the KARMA™ plant-based dog food provide the same benefits of a normal dog food?

KARMA™ dry food is designed to be nutritionally balanced for adult dogs, meaning your dog will get all of the vitamins and minerals they need. And all of our recipes are formulated to meet both AAFCO and MPENS requirements for adult dogs.

  • What does zero-waste to landfill* mean?

Zero waste to landfill (also called zero landfill) is a status achieved when a company diverts 100% of the waste they produce from a landfill to an alternate disposal source. The KARMA™ brand works with third parties to ensure compliance and uses Northstar for recycling. In the past year, the manufacturing site (VIC) has not sent anything to the landfill.

*This product is manufactured in a site committed to zero waste to landfill.
